Alright Oppo, here’s the scoop. I had new tires put on and an alignment done on our MkV Jetta 2.5 over the weekend. Today I decided to go out for a little lunch time drive because it’s gorgeous outside and I noticed that the car is making a terrible squeaking noise that seems to be coming from one of the front wheels.
It seems to come and go and be most pronounced at slow speeds. It’s not brake squeal and doesn’t seem to be affected by brake inputs. To me, it sounds like the swing in the clip below, although not quite so severe:
I’m at the office now and won’t be able to have a close look until I get home. Any ideas in the meantime?

Maybe wheel bearings?

Maybe one of the shields on the back side of the brake rotors got bent a little and is intermittently rubbing on the rotor when it spins?

Good thinking, that could definitely happen. It has wheel bolts instead of studs with lugs and a wheel definitely could have slipped and bent the shield when they were taking it off or putting it on.
